Luck will be responsible for the technology sector and will thus manage product innovation, development and project management. Brenner will be responsible for the production sectors of the German locations in Freudenstadt, Paderborn and Mastholte.
Swiss-born Renato Luck who has joined the management board is a mechanical and industrial engineer with more than 15 years of international management experience in the area of major projects and line design. After several activities at the chemistry company EMS-Group, a global player in the area of high performance polymers and specialty chemicals, 42-year-old Luck also worked for Oerlikon Solar, where he was responsible for the development, engineering and project-specific planning of turnkey production lines and factories. He handled international major projects and end-to-end solutions for the large-volume production of thin film silicon solar modules in this connection. Beforehand Luck managed client projects of Oerlikon for the planning and installation of lamination lines (PECVD-, PVD-technology) for the TFT LCD industry in Asia. During his time at EMS Luck’s main focus was on engineering, design and start-up of factories for the manufacture of high-performance polymers. Besides many years of foreign assignment in the USA, the mechanical engineer gained experience in a joint-venture with Japanese business partners. Luck studied mechanical engineering (field: process technology) in Chur/Switzerland and economic sciences (focus on management and marketing) in Zurich, and St. Gallen. He is married and has two children.
With immediate effect Luck manages the technology and product innovation sector at Bürkle. Background information: Bürkle internally merges the technical development of the surface business unit comprising the wood-based panel, glass, automotive and graphical industry as well as the photovoltaic business unit, and the PCB/plastic card business unit. The line manufacturer thus advances the change to platform and modular design with this step.
