Turkish packaging company to build bottle plant in Siberia

05/05/2008

Anadolu Cam Sanayii, a Turkish glass packaging producer, is to construct a €130 million glass bottle factory in Novosibirsk, West Siberia, according to the regional state investment agency.

“The construction will start in May and the first glass melting furnace is planned to be built by the end of the year, when the first stage of the plant will be commissioned,” said Vladimir Kozhevnikov from the agency.

Anadolu Cam Sanayii reportedly reached a deal with the Novosibirsk Region administration last year to build the plant, which is to have an annual capacity of 1 billion bottles. Output from the factory will be supplied to the leading drinks producers of Russia and other Soviet republics.
