ICF mourns founder and Board member

The International Crystal Federation (ICF) has announced the death of Dr John Kennedy after suffering a long illness. Dr Kennedy was one of the founders of the organisation and had been a member of its Board of Directors for the last 17 years. He was also Chairman of the Federation between 1997 and 2000.

Dr Kennedy enjoyed a long career with Waterford Crystal between 1970 and 2004, during which time he worked in various positions including managing the company’s lightingware factory. After retiring from management in 2004, he maintained an association with the company on a consultancy basis.

The ICF has paid tribute to Dr Kennedy’s ‘unparalleled’ contributions to the crystal industry, as well as his tireless devotion to his wife, four daughters and six grandchildren.
