Price increase for metals announced

09/06/2008

HC Stark’s Fabricated Products Division (FPR) is informing its customers around the world of a double digit price increase for molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum and niobium metals with immediate effect or as contracts permit.

The substantial increase in demand for these metals from markets such as China and the global consumer electronics market has resulted in a sustained increase in the cost of raw materials.

In addition, it seems that these market conditions are likely to be sustained and even increase. Prices of other commodities, such as energy, also significantly affect the FPR division, for instance in production and transportation.
