Engineered Transparency 2012. International conference about glass, facade and solar energy at glasstec 25 October – 26 October 2012.

For the second time the international conference "engineered transparency" in association with the glasstec fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, offered a unique opportunity to combine presentations about advanced glass technologies in architecture and structural engineering with an exhibition of world leading technology in glass production, processing and products.

The international conference aimed to present research and latest developments on the architectural and structural use of glass construction, facade engineering and solar technology. Engineers, designers, architects and researches were invited to participate at the conference.


The topics of the engineering session

  • Glass construction: Strength and stability, laminates and composite designs, bent and free-formed glass

  • Facade engineering: Building envelope and structure, energy and sustainability, architectural design and lighting, project and case studies
