IR-D

The IR-D – Infrared Dual camera system - assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the forming process.

The innovative solution is suitable for all forming processes (Blow & Blow, Press & Blow and NNPB) and for round and non-round ware in each glass colour.

IR-D operating principle
At the Hot End the IR-D detects the intensity of infrared radiation emitted by the hot glass containers. The measured intensity is translated into essential information about the status of the glass forming process and makes accurate defect inspection possible, already in the Hot End.

The IR-D rejects glass containers with critical defects before the HEC tunnel and the lehr. The real-time process information provided by the XPAR Vision software is related to single cavities which helps the operator to take the right remedial actions.
The simple and intuitive IR-D user interface allows the operator to maintains a clear view on the IS-machine and the conveyor belt.
Combined with other XPAR solutions, XPAR Vision provides real-time process information of the Hot End forming process from the cutting of the gob until the glass containers enter the annealing lehr.
Connected with the company’s network the IR-D enables remote access for production specialists to review the status of the forming process and apply changes to configurations.

IGC

The IGC – Infrared Gob weight Control system – as an add-on to XPAR Vision’s IR camera systems, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the weight of all cut gobs.
This innovative solution is suitable for all forming processes (Blow & Blow, Press & Blow and NNPB) and for round and non-round ware in each glass colour.

IGC operating principle
At the Hot End, XPAR Vision’s IR-D system detects the intensity of infrared radiation emitted by the hot glass containers. The IR-D measures the intensity of each single glass container. The IGC relates this measurement to the weight of the related gob. Any deviations in gob weight are automatically compensated by the IGC through adjusting the position of the tube. The IGC ensures a constant weight of the cut gobs, thus eliminating an important source of process variation.

Connected to the company’s network, the IGC and IR-D enable remote access for production specialists to (re)view the status of the forming process and apply changes to settings and configurations.
Combined with other XPAR solutions, XPAR Vision provides real-time process information of the Hot End forming process, from the cutting of the gob, until the glass containers enter the annealing lehr.

GobAssist

The GobAssist - an add-on to XPAR Vision’s IR camera systems, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the gob loading at all cavities.

GobAssist operating principle
The GobAssist ensures to find, to maintain and to retrieve the optimal gob loading within seconds, thus eliminating an important source of process variation, thus eliminating critical defects related to bad gob loading.

The optimal gob loading per cavity can be obtained through an intuitive user interface. Any preventive or corrective actions are instantly confirmed in the glass distribution of the glass container, visualized by XPAR Vision's IR-D system.
Connected to the company’s network the GobAssist and IR-D enables remote access for production specialists to review the status of the forming process and apply changes to settings and configurations.

BTC - Hot End sensor solution for monitoring and controlling the temperature of the blank mould

The Blank side Temperature Control - an add-on to XPAR Vision’s GobAssist, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the temperature of the blank mould, neck ring, plunger and parison, at all cavities.

BTC operating principle
The BTC continuously monitors the temperature of all cavities and gives an alarm when the temperature inside the cavity exceeds the set limit.

The BTC ensures to find, to maintain and to retrieve the optimal temperature distribution within seconds, eliminating an important source of process variation and eliminating critical defects related to bad temperature distribution.
Connected to the company’s network the BTC enables remote access for production specialists to review the status of the forming process and apply changes to settings and configurations.

XMIS

XMIS - SQL Based Information System - an add-on to XPAR Vision’s solutions, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their understanding of the forming process and thereby improves their product quality and increases their glass forming capabilities.

This innovative solution supports all XPAR Vision's solutions, including the IR-D, the IGC, the Gob Assist and the BTC.

XMIS operating principle
When XPAR Vision's Hot End solutions are implemented at the production line, enormous amounts of information are gathered about the forming process and presented to the user. Without XMIS installed in the plant this information would be stored for a short duration before being discarded and therefore lost for further analysis and future reference.
XMIS allows all process data to be stored on a centralized server for longer periods of time. It also provides a web-based user interface to retrieve these data in a intuitive way by generating pre-defined reports.

XMIS enables the user to analyze for critical defects, perform process improvements and perform benchmarking between e.g. lines, sections and cavities. It also provides access to historical data, for traceability in case of customer reclamations. On top of this, XMIS includes a mail service which can deliver standardized Hot End reports on a daily basis. This makes XMIS an indispensable tool to better understand the production process and improve on both process and product quality.

Combined with other XPAR solutions, XPAR Vision provides real-time process information of the Hot End forming process, from the cutting of the gob, until glass containers passing the IR-D system on their way to enter the annealing lehr.
