The batch house should be designed to the request of the customer. The cost optimal process has to be engineered. The specification of silo volumes and numbers has to be evaluated to quality aspects of the raw materials and cullets. Questions arise actually like:

The Batch Plant includes generally the following parts:

The design guarantees an optimum of glass pull rate in respect of energy consumption, glass quality and stable conditions. The refractory materials have to be adapted to the requirements of container glass, and the areas to heavy convective currents have been reinforced through the implementation of special refractory materials.

The working end and the forehearths will be engineered with the most advanced technology in order to provide the highest gob thermal homogeneity.

The furnace is the most cost intensive equipment in respect to Capex and Opex and the basis for a high quality glass. The furnace concept must be evaluated under the following points to achieve a long term stable process.

Energy consumption
The energy costs for gas and electricity will increase in the next coming years. Only the companies who are running on a low energy level of the furnace can be cost competitive in the next future. The specific energy consumption on smaller furnaces is less good than on bigger ones. Therefore the energy cost optimal furnace design for small companies is crucial.

The level of restrictions has to be defined inside the specifications because it can have a huge impact on CAPEX.

Services and Local Supply

According to the needs and requirements, the will design and specify the IS Machine.

Under consideration of the product range to be produced and according to the furnace capacity, engineers an individual concept containing the cooling systems, number of sections, section convertible options and, but this is the content of the utility systems, dimensioning of compressed air supply to the sections. Like the IS machines, all following components from the machine conveyor to the stacker will be selected under consideration of the production parameter like speeds, article characteristics, quality requirements etc..

The Annealing Lehr acts to release the tension of the glass by means of a defined temperature profile. The annealing lehr is composed of different zones for heating and cooling.

Concerning the annealing process, the customer is able to benefit from cm.project.ings' advanced experiences in that field. In addition to the recommendations of the annealing lehr manufacturer, is able to use a by its own developed calculator to calculate the optimal annealing curve of individual articles to be produced.

In times of increasing production speeds, the container glass industry aims to automate and to perfect the quality control of their production. Defining a cold end inspection system for the customer, would focus on the quality requirements of the customer itself and the quality principles of the customers' clients to ensure a concept that achieve the required performance for sure. Simultaneously, an over dimensioned inspection system, which boosts up the investment costs for the customer needlessly, will be avoided.

In our Construction and Layouting department, our planners’ and engineers’ achievements are professionally visualized and processed with the client’s needs in mind.

Range of Services
We create tender offer drawings for all project-related detail- and design drawings, which are essential for the smooth progress of a project – also in multiple variants, if required by the client. Naturally, every completed project also requires its final As-built documentation created by our draughtspersons.

In addition to the usual two-dimensional drawings, we offer our clients 3D-models that convey a better spatial impression. In this manner, our concepts become even more perspicuous and your decision-making process even easier.

Our Construction and Layouting department closely collaborates with our company’s project management and our engineering department. It supports the overall project during all relevant phases, from Concept and Planning over the Build- and through to the final Run-phase.
Phase: Concept
Tender Offer Drawings

All tender offer drawings are created in an individual and project-related manner, based upon information supplied by the client and in close collaboration with our engineering department. They represent the foundation of all talks during which the client’s ideas and suggestions inform our planning. During the Tender Offer- or Concept phase, the drawings are then accordingly modified and developed further by our engineers.

Our layouts are additionally created in 3D. In this way, we can offer our clients an improved overview over the plant technology and achieve the highest possible degree of transparency for all production processes even during the planning phase.

To round off our offering, we also conduct Feasibility Studies. In the course of these feasibility studies, supports the project team in question by creating preliminary works’ layouts and visualized scenarios.

Phase: Plan
During the project planning phase, our Construction and Layouting department ensures optimal interface management. Owing to the large number of suppliers of technical equipment for glass production, there will necessarily be interfaces where the different subtasks come into contact with one another. During this phase, these points of contact as well as the relevant space requirements have to be approximately determined and depicted in drawings.

For this Basic Engineering, we use overview drawings as well as initial detail drawings. These drawings aid us in spotting and analyzing points of contact early on and serve as an important visual basis for finding optimal solutions in collaboration with all parties involved.

The drawings are also used in the subsequent project phase. Likewise, the graphical coordination of interfaces plays an increasingly important role during the realization of projects (Build).

Phase: Build
The Build-phase comprises all construction work required to realize the project. Coordination and interface management between the architect in charge, the company building the plant and the construction requirements of the technical equipment are accordingly important. The team defines the exact space requirements of the suppliers’ technology, checks the static feasibility in coordination with the architect and works with the architect towards finding agreed-upon solutions for the statics.

Thus, for example, information on building openings (roof / wall / floor) and statics is provided, or assembly- and fork-lift truck routes are being kept clear for suppliers tasked with providing equipment. Our insights are subsequently processed for the architect and passed on to him or her to be implemented in architectonical and statical terms.

In addition, we create construction drawings and the attendant detail drawings, in which we depict the given situation and any eventual collisions. These drawings are a key element of the Detail Engineering.

We also work with three-dimensional representations of building areas during the phase in which the construction work takes place. This enables us to derive drawings very quickly, in order to be able to resolve even precarious construction situations at once. A further advantage of this approach is the collision analysis resulting from it, which is conducted automatically, for a scenario in which all machinery is placed on site.
Phase: Run/Documentation
After building work has been completed and the plant has been commissioned, we provide our clients with extensive documentation drawings. Upon completion of the project, we create As-built drawings depicting the project in its finished state.

Our 3D-overview drawings also offer important advantages in this regard. For instance, they help to clarify installation scenarios that contribute towards a better understanding of the overall production. Moreover, we can create animations of entire production processes on behalf of our clients.

Additional Services

During the layouting of projects, we make sure, in collaboration with the architect, that auxiliary equipment, storage spaces, required ancillary buildings and further elements are also assigned locations that make the most sense in technical and logistical terms.

Flow diagrams

Upon request, our Construction and Layouting department creates flow diagrams of the works’ production process proper, for example for water- and ventilation circuits.

Steelwork construction drawings

Elaborating structural steelwork drawings, which are indispensable for building a plant, also forms part of our range of services. We generate all data required for statical calculations (heights, permissible support positions, load requirements) and create, in collaboration with professional structural engineers, the required tender offer specifications for the steelwork construction.

Release of drawings

Of course, checking all drawings submitted by suppliers and architects also forms part of our range of services, including the important double-checking of all releases and release notes.

Electrical Engineering

Range of Services

On behalf of our clients, we calculate all electrical power consumption within their glass plant as a forecast, which we use to develop an efficient and secure energy distribution. Upon the basis of this preliminary calculation, are also able to design the medium voltage supply – from the feed-in through to the transformer outgoing feeders or motor switches, plus the corresponding safety- and control functions – and request feedback on this concept from the various plant manufacturers.

The works’ total power load is allocated in a line-dependent manner amongst the distribution transformers, paying particular heed to safeguarding against system failure. Safeguarding against failure not only comprises the possibility of conducting maintenance work, it also comprises an emergency power supply provided by an emergency diesel generator to guarantee plant safety. This fully-automated generator immediately supplies energy to plant components reporting a power failure. In doing so, the relative importance of the plant is taken into consideration.

In parallel with the emergency power diesel generator, individual parts of the plant are supplied by a steam turbine integrated into the exhaust gas flow of the primary energy carrier. When it comes to realizing holistic concepts, we are able to plan and deliver both the emergency power diesel generator and the steam turbine. In this manner, any eventual production downtime later on is kept to a minimum from the planning stage onwards.

The team establishes detailed performance requirements for each individual component, based upon which the entire power supply grid of the plant can be planned in advance as a 3D-representation. Moreover, we ensure a correct line routing that matches the pipe routing, which we also plan. In this way, collision-free installation and a high degree of confidence in planning for all parties involved can be achieved. also plans and delivers all additionally required power supply junctions that supply the technical plant elements and the works buildings.
