The intelligent solution provided by innovative technology The system
Innovative technology demands for new directions. Therefore, together with our cooperation partner Grafix, we at IfG have introduced to the glass industry the powder spraying of glass plates and car windscreens by means of nozzle systems. Since 1996 we have put this method into action with an exemplary story of success. Since that time, more than 500 systems have been installed world-wide and to our customers satisfaction.
The functional principle
Ingeniously simple - simply ingenious. The powder is prepared in a dosage device and conveyed to the nozzle pipe through powder hoses. Here, the respective separating powder is applied to the glass by means of carrier air. In this way, the powder is evenly distributed and develops an excellent adhesion on the glass. The powder quantity may be automatically adjusted to the line speed as well as to the glass width. All advantages at a glance Benefits:
Even application of powder over the entire glass surface Automatic adjustment of the powder quantity to the line speed/glass width No additional electrostatic charge required Quality assurance by means of minimised "formation of scratches" Applications: Vertical, horizontal, top and bottom Fluidisation is performed in a closed tank. This provides for optimum powder characteristics and the ability to flow Powder change possible within a few minutes - without powder losses

IfG Glastechnik GmbH shows how to best protect glass
IfG develops and manufactures custom powder application and ultrasonic wet spray systems to protect all kinds of sheet glass and markets its products all around the world. IfG and its associates – Grafix GmbH in Stuttgart, KSL Staubtechnik GmbH in Lauingen and sono-tek in New York USA – offer economical concepts for applying separating agents and ultrasonic glass coating systems. Also to be seen are easy-to-use control concepts and integral services packages aiming for greater productivity and higher availability.
In the time since its premiere in 1996, the Economical Powdering System (EPS), developed in collaboration with Grafix, has gained renown as a highly efficient system incorporating nozzles to apply protective powders to glass. Even in the most extreme atmospheres and climates, all around the world, EPS systems are both precise and dependable. This specialist firm has accumulated thirty years of expertise in the processes associated with glass powdering, applying separating agents, and transporting glass. IfG offers current developments, technical innovations, new solutions, and services associated with the systems.
IfG Glastechnik offer how EPS, making use of optimized nozzles and control technology, matches the amount of powder discharged exactly to the speed of the line and the width of the glass. That cuts costs. A new control concept using touch screen input makes for intuitive operation. It also simplifies parameterization and permits easy-to-understand troubleshooting for the EPS machines. Should this ever become necessary, then it quickly becomes clear where and what actions need to be taken.
Since years sono-tek and IfG cooperats in the field of ultrasonic wet spray glass coating systems. This environmentally-friendly ultrasonic coating system significantly reduces material consumption, depositing much thinner and more uniform layers than pressure air nozzles. The system features drip-free, atomized spray using precision, patented ultrasonic spray nozzles. The systems are ideal for applying thin protective polymer coating solutions to low-E glass and for inline anti-stain protective coatings to protect against corrosion during transport and storage.
Glass is an extremely delicate and sensitive material. It is important to be sure that your high-value products are kept safe against damage and influences that could impact quality during forming, assembly, shipping and warehousing. Equipment built by IfG Glastechnik applies dependable protection to all kinds of industrial sheet glass.
30 years of experience and technical expertise
With wide-ranging experience in various industries, technologies and processes, we have become a specialist in glass protection and are recognized as such around the world. IfG Glastechnik engineers, builds and maintains complete systems for the application of separation agents and other industrial particulates. Those systems often incorporate our superb Economical Powdering System (EPS) and Ultrasonic Wet Spray Coating System for Float and Low-E Glass.
Systems exactly to customer specifications
The news has made the rounds: Our innovative approaches make for efficient solutions and machinery that functions reliably, exactly according to customer concepts. That is why our clientele is found in the float glass, coated glass, solar glass and laminated glass sectors and in the automotive industry.
“We know what topics move the market today and know which solutions will be needed tomorrow.” Ralph Deeg
IfG Glastechnik always takes account of the conditions prevailing on site. Because of that, our systems can even apply powder at right angles to glass substrates like convex mirrors or solar glass. Our Ultrasonic Wet Spray Glass Coating Systems applies a thin protective polymer coating solution to low-E glass and coat the float glass with anti-stain protective coatings against corrosion during transport and storage.
“We continuously support our customers in their efforts to achieve the desired productivity levels.” Ralph Deeg
Intensive customer care and an open ear for your requirements enjoy top priority among all our people. Now that some 700 systems are in operation around the world, modern service and maintenance concepts are gaining significance. As an innovative, middle-market company that can draw the capabilities of high-performance partners, IfG Glastechnik is well prepared to master the tasks of the future.
