NOx is a term used to describe exhaust gases consisting primarily of nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). NOx emissions are a concern because they contribute to the formation of acid rain and, either directly or through the creation of ozone, lead to harmful effects on human health. The combustion of fossil fuels has been determined as a major source of NOx emissions.

Dürr Systems has the technical ability for NOx abatement alone or include VOCs and HAPs in the process. The novel multi-pollutant air pollution control technology combines DeDust, DeSOx and DeNOx processes in a single catalyst coated candle filter system - the Catalytic Candle Filter (CCF).
The Ecopure® CCF system enables the simultaneous control of dust, heavy metals, oxides of sulphur (SOx), acid gases (HCl, HF) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in one unit.
Advantages of the Ecopure® CCF include the minimization of risks associated with unwanted reactions between ammonia and sulphur compounds as well as increased efficiency due to the higher maximum operating temperature - up to 380°C. As such, the system offers a cost-effective alternative for the control of multiple pollutants from thermal processes.
The regenerative thermal oxidizer from type Ecopure® RTO are characterized by a cost optimized, a standardised and a low maintenance design. The most modern process technology of the Ecopure® RTO allows a economic disposal of solvent-containing and offensive odour exhaust air with a efficiency of over 99,8%. Due to different design options the Ecopure® RTO is insertable universal.
The patented air routing with tightly sealed, low-maintenance stainless steel disc valve guaranteed the best possible heat exchange flow at minimal area requirements and greatest ease of maintenance.
Because of the intelligent RTO design it is possible to modularly expand the quantity of heat exchangers for a better capacity management.

Bietigheim-Bissingen/Germany, October 19, 2016 – Dürr first deployed the Ecopure® CCF, a newly developed combined DeDust, DeSOx and DeNOx process, for a Chinese company. It enables the glassware manufacturer to reliably comply with low emission limits. Another strength of this space-saving technology is its suitability both for new installations and retrofits. Due to TA-Luft 2017 – the new air pollution control regulations – this technology is also of particular interest to industrial enterprises in Germany.
With Ecopure® CCF technology, three pollutants are eliminated in one system, which translates into economic total cost of ownership.
As DeDust, DeSOx and DeNOx processes are combined in just one unit; the setup is very compact and allows space-saving installation within existing production facilities.
The high efficiency of the individual processes delivers maximum separation efficiencies for all types of pollutants, meeting the latest requirements of the forthcoming TA-Luft 2017 regulations particularly in respect of dust, sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides. Integrating the three individual processes into the Ecopure® CCF system means lower maintenance costs and reduced space requirements, which results in lower operating costs.
The 3-in-1 technology has been well received, especially in overseas markets, and now it has been included in the official draft of the VDI 2578 standard in Germany.
