The ISWatch is a new, multi Infrared Camera system for:

- Hot End Defect Inspection
- Forming Process Monitoring
- Forming Process Control

Total Hot End Inspection

The ISWatch system uses very small infrared cameras to create thermal images of the hot glass products directly after the IS-machine. 

Because the cameras are so small, it is possible to view the glass products with 4 or more cameras from different positions and angles, making a total hot end inspection feasible.

The images of the infrared cameras are processed and analysed in real-time to provide cavity related information about:

- Inclusions
- Glass Distribution
- Temperature
- Glass Symmetry
- Lean
- Shape
The information is stored and displayed in trend graphs together with the infrared camera images on a large Touch Screen. With the provided information the glass forming process can be analysed and improved.

The infrared camera images are displayed on the screen in colours corresponding to the visual perception operators have of hot bottles. This visualization makes it easier and quicker to find problems in the forming process.

Warning and alarm levels can be set in order to inform personnel when the glass forming process changes. Direct remedial action can take place so that the production of glass products with defects and with a lower quality can be prevented.

Hot End Transport Monitoring

The TopWatch system monitors the position of glass products on the conveyor directly after the IS-Machine.

The TopWatch system uses one small infrared camera mounted above the conveyor to create thermal images of the glass products.

The TopWatch provides real time cavity related information about:

- X-Position
- Y-Position
- Bottle Rotation / Tilt
- Conveyor Speed

The information is stored and displayed in trend graphs together with the top view product images on an interactive Touch Screen.

With the TopWatch information the pusher settings and conveyor speed are easily set up and controlled which leads to a smooth hot end transport and a reduction of the Job Change time.

Warning and alarm limits can be set in order to inform personnel when transport process changes and the position of the glass products are out of the set limits.

Gob Inspection, Monitoring and Control
The new and innovative GobWatch camera system automatically controls the gob weight of single and multi gob weight feeders, inspects every gob for inclusions like seeds, bubbles and stones and rejects glass products with inclusions directly after the IS-machine!

The GobWatch is very easy to use, significantly improves the product quality and productivity and has a payback time of less than one year.

The closed loop gob weight control function of the GobWatch stabilizes the gob weight (±0.05% achievable) and shortens the Job-Change time (more than 30 minutes).

The GobWatch system can provide real-time seed count, bubble count and size information.

Non-round and engraved glass products like perfume bottles with blisters, bubbles, cords, stones and other gob inclusions can be rejected by the GobWatch directly after the IS-machine.

The GobWatch system can also reject formed glass products with for example gob weight deviations, gob length deviations or gob drop angle deviations.
