ASB - Systembau Horst Babinsky GmbH
Innovation is a matter of experience
In 1965 Horst Babinsky founded the „Systembau Horst Babinsky" with the new building system „Trelement“. With „Trelement“ as carrying aluminum structure, it was possible to design triangle and hexagonal rooms. More than 100 projects like churches, office buildings, kindergartens, schools and residential buildings were built with industrially prefabricated parts.
In 1976 Horst Babinsky developed a squash wall, which changed the squash court construction with its new construction and sand filling. Today more than 6,000 ASB Courts have been installed all-around the world. ASB has become the world’s largest squash court producer. Almost all changes in squash court design and construction come from ASB’s design team. The World Squash Federation awarded the CEO, Horst Babinsky, the „International Innovations Award“ - a unique honour.
In 1985 the ASB Show GlassCourt was invented - an all glass squash court. The special feature of this court is the One-Way-Effect, achieved by little dots, burnt into the safety glass. The spectator can watch the match from outside, but for the squash players the wall is non-transparent. The GlassFloor for the fast game in the glass arena was a logical consequence in 2007. In 2009 the first sports hall was equipped with the ASB GlassFloor followed by additional references.
In 2016, ASB’s latest innovation, the LumiFlex Floor, a full LED sports floor, is certified by the IST, meeting all requirements of the international sports norm EN 14904.
Today Christof Babinsky is the majority owner and Managing Director of the family business.
