Passive beam guiding elements

FEHA offers passive beam guiding elements for bending, splitting, focusing and application oriented shaping of the laser beam. These elements are tuned especially to the beam characteristic of FEHA CO2-lasers, but can be used of course for other CO2 laser sources too.

In some modules different functions are integrated (like beam polarization, beam bending and beam alignment). Different modules can be combined (like beam polarization followed by power measuring). Cleaning or replacing of mirrors is possible without losing the beam alignment.

Our optical components are designed for an average beam power up to 2kW. The beam apertures are usually 30mm. As a result the components can be perfectly used for raw beam diameters up to 18mm.

MICROSTORMTM - Powerful Q-switched Short Pulse CO2-Laser

The MICROSTORM™ is a Q-switched short pulse high power CO2 laser. With this device we succeeded in combining the advantages of a short pulse laser with the wave length of a CO2 laser – not only the known 10,6 µm, but also other possible wave lengths in the range of 9…11µm can be realized. This product is available from now, more versions will follow within the next months.

This product offers completely new dimensions in pulse peak power, pulse width and pulse frequency. All parameters are adjustable in a wide range so that the laser process can be adapted optimally to the application.

This is made possible by the patented principle based on the splitting of the laser resonator in a Q-switched branch with low power and a high power branch which will be outcoupled. In the low beam power branch Q-switching can easily be realized with optical switches like modulators or choppers.

The convenient option of Q-switching uses Acousto-optic modulators (AOMs) for a very flexible control of the pulse operation. The pulse frequency can be freely selected from cw up to 150 kHz. Pulse groups or single pulses can be generated. The pulse form can be varied in a flexible way.

For easier applications with clearly defined pulse sequences a more cost-effective version with fixed parameters can be delivered. In this case the pulse sequence is being realized with a chopper disk in the Q-switched branch.

Therefore, for the first time, a tool with extraordinary features is available for material processing. The mentioned features in combination with extraordinary beam qualitie typical for FEHA CO2 lasers, guarantee high quality in material processing. Moreover, the high middle performance of up to 350W enables high process productivity.

Operators will open up entirely new laser material processing possibilities with the MICROSTORM™ or solve processes faster and more cost-effective. Especially for the processing of critical materials like different kinds of glass, carbon fiber- or glass fiber-reinforced plastics or special ceramics will open new doors which seem to have been reserved only to short pulse lasers of shorter wave length.

HYPERICO2 - Powerful pulsed cw-CO2-Laser

The new HYPERICO2 laser family is the result of modernization of the proven SMxxxE laser series and replaces it from now on. The design profits from all our experience and know-how from the past.

The diffusion cooled and direct current excited single mode CO2 laser still features the highest known beam quality on the market. Some parameters, like the pointing stability, have been improved. These lasers are available for different wave lengths and single line mode (only one single spectral line).

The beam performance can be adjusted from 5 % up to the maximum nominal power, with the laser beam maintaining its excellent beam qualities. One option permits high-precision control of the beam power. Together with direct current excitation you will obtain a highly constant laser source. The pulse operation with hyper pulse is still included in the delivery.

The electrical energy consumption of the laser could be reduced considerably, particularly due to new high voltage power supplies. By using latest technologies in switching power supplies and innovative components a new quality level for efficiency and reliability has been achieved.

So HYPERICO2 lasers are by far the CO2 lasers with lowest operating costs of their class – worldwide! Taking into account all costs from purchasing to operation our products have the best cost of ownership and are therefore an excellent product for you.  

FEHA lasers guarantee an efficient service for the whole product life cycle. A typical laser life time of 40.000 working hours (with suggested service intervals each 4000 working hours) speaks for itself. A new laser control offers you as OEM new ways of integrating the laser in your products and informs you anytime perfectly about the condition of the laser.

As an OEM version we are offering with our modular design optimal conditions for integration in your machine design.

We can offer as well stand-alone Laser systems. All necessary modules are integrated in a laser control cabinet. The safety- control systems allow operation according to the modern standards (e. g. DIN EN ISO 60825-1 und DIN EN ISO 13849-1.

Modulators are always an interesting choice when high dynamic laser pulses are necessary. The Interference-Laser-Modulator family „ILM“¿ gives us the opportunity to realize sophisticated and complex tasks – e.g. like drilling processes.

FEHA integrates Acousto-Optic Modulator (AOM) devices in complex units which can be excellent combined with FEHA CO2 lasers. The principle of these devices requests very stable laser parameters and a high beam quality. The FEHA SM series is the ideal beam source to guarantee highest quality and efficiency of the processing result. With one typical application of this technology – engraving of Flexo Printing Sleeves – a system made by FEHA has proved itself very well.
