On October 31, Verallia inaugurates its third furnace in Mendoza’s plant in Argentina, in the presence of its CEO, Jérôme Fessard, and local authorities. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, President of the Argentine Republic, spoke via videoconference on the work accomplished by the Verallia teams and on the importance of this project to Argentina. In fact, this is the most important industrial investment made in 2012 by a private company.
This 3rd furnace, mainly dedicated to the production of still and sparkling wine bottles, required an investment of 70M$ (54M€). Its construction began in March 2011 and was completed during the second quarter of this year. The site’s storage capacity for raw materials and cullet also increased, thanks to the construction of new silos (sand, limestone and soda ash). Finally, the manufacturing process was fully optimized with the implementation of the latest cutting edge quality control equipment.
With a 40 to 50% increase in production capacity, Verallia – main supplier of glass packaging for the wine industry – is equipped to support the vigorous development of its clients in the wine world, especially in the exports market.
