Düsseldorf, Germany – October 21, 2014 – Guardian Europe presents a new coating for its ClimaGuard® and SunGuard® advanced architectural glass portfolios that combines low maintenance (LM) and anti-condensation (Dry) properties. Guardian “LM Dry” is a new generation coating specifically designed for the outside surface to minimize condensation and dirt build-up on the glass.
“In modern facades with enhanced thermal insulation, especially triple glazing and double skin facades, external condensation can occur,” says Volodymyr Shkurenko, Segment Leader at Guardian Europe. Guardian “LM Dry” coating not only reduces the occurrence of external condensation, it is combined with low maintenance performance, which keeps hard to reach glass areas such as glass roofs and skylights cleaner for longer.
The “LM Dry” coating should be heat treated (HT) in order to be activated and can be combined with any heat treatable Guardian SunGuard or ClimaGuard coating on surface 2. A recent study showed a decrease to 0% condensation where Dry was used in a double skin façade.
“The results were really impressive. In more than 20% of the cases reviewed, condensation occurred on double skin façades. This condensation disappeared when the glass used was Dry,” says Jasmin Hodzic, Guardian’s Head Architectural Sales for Belgium, Netherlands and France.
Combined with SunGuard and ClimaGuard HT product ranges “LM Dry” is an excellent solution for a range of applications including double skin facades, roof windows, winter gardens and triple glazed vertical windows, where condensation and dirt accumulation often take place.
Guardian “LM Dry” will be on display at Glasstec in Dusseldorf, Germany, on October 21 to 24, hall 10 at stand F43 and Glass Technology Live area. Visitors will be able to appreciate the look of SunGuard High Durable Diamond 66 Ultra with an LM Dry coating in a double skin façade setup and several IGU set-ups with ClimaGuard range.
“LM Dry” is a feature that will be available in Europe in combination with Guardian SunGuard HT and ClimaGuard HT products. For more information on our full range of solar protection glass, please visit our website: www.sunguardglass.com or contact us: info.europe@guardian.com
