EVA films from Folienwerk Wolfen GmbH impress with high quality and easy processing

The specialist for high-quality film extrusion Folienwerk Wolfen GmbH (FWG) is launching its brand new EVA film (ethylene vinyl acetate) for the architectural and solar industry. Under the name evguard, FWG is offering laminating film, which is particularly easy to process, for the production of laminated safety glass and decorative glass, according to a formulation from BCP Chemie Consult.

“The characteristics of the evguard film are high mechanical stability, high humidity and heat resistance as well as a large application field, the film being suitable for temperature-sensitive interlayers,” explains Dr. Steffen Bornemann, Reaseach & Development, and adds: “the excellent melting and embedding properties allow very easy handling and processing of the film.”

Günther Griebel, owner of BCP Chemie Consult, details: “When designing the evguard films, we listened to the requirements of the different industries. This means that we are now able to offer each sector the film with the specific performance they need.” evguard secure has been conceived in particular for laminated safety glass with very high quality requirements, while evguard N is offered as an all round film for decorative use with architectural glass. When high clarity and transparency are the major concern, evguard crystal is the ideal product to use.

In addition to this, Folienwerk Wolfen proposes the EVA laminating film Solafen, manufactured from European raw material only, for the photovoltaics market. In order to protect the solar cell from external influences, such as humidity, it is encapsulated by FWG’s fast cure film, which has been developed respecting all parameters that are important for the production of solar modules. At a laminating temperature of 140°C a crosslinking of 80% is reached within 13 minutes. At the same time the transparent film has a very high light transmission, meeting the important prerequisite for photovoltaic modules.
