SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE: SUNE), a leading solar developer and technology provider, announced that the China Institute of Energy Economics and China Energy News has awarded Ahmad R. Chatila, President and Chief Executive Officer of SunEdison, the coveted "Global New Energy Business Leader" award. The award was presented at the prestigious 2014 Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises Summit.

The award recognized Mr. Chatila's outstanding leadership and vision in transforming SunEdison from a semiconductor manufacturing company to a global leader in solar technology and downstream system deployment and service.

"I'm honored to receive this award on behalf of all of the employees of SunEdison," said Mr. Chatila. "It is their dedication and innovation that has created our success and that inspires me every day."

Mr. Chatila holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and has completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University.
