Grafotec Spray Systems GmbH to supply Brazil's largest float glass manufacturer

Diedorf, December 2011 - The Brazilian economy is becoming increasingly important for European products. Not only the World Cup 2014 and the 2016 Olympics have opened up new economic opportunities. Current integration efforts between the EU and Mercosur - the fourth largest trading bloc in the world - have also led to South American countries becoming more interesting for the European market. A free trade agreement between the two economic regions is intended to open the South American market even more for European products in the coming years. The Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) are also planning to open up the automotive sector further.

Grafotec Spray Systems GmbH already supplies the automobile industry today. As the Bavarian company has proven in India, its systems for float and flat glass perform safely and reliably even under extreme climatic conditions. Even at extreme temperatures and high humidity the Grafotec units ensure uniform quality in corrosion protection. Grafotec was able to convince Brazil's largest float glass manufacturer of this high quality, which is why Grafotec will build a complete LA 1000 system and two complete AP systems in the vicinity of Sao Paulo in December 2011. These types of units have the ideal properties for demanding production environments. The devices of the AP series are very well suited for the uniform application of powder separating agents for special requirements. The unique roll design of the liquid application system enables the nozzleless application of corrosion protection on float glass and flat glass. Even under difficult climatic production conditions this method produces a consistent spray without dripping.

After the successful conclusion of the contracts, Grafotec Spray Systems GmbH intends to consolidate its position in the South American market even further. CEO Reinhold Senft: "The sales to Brazil confirm again that the quality of our apparatus is also in demand internationally. The planned float lines in Peru and Colombia will be equipped with corrosion protection systems by Grafotec too.“
