The Technische Universität Dresden, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Institute of Building Construction is pleased to invite you to participate in the LBTGC - Young Researchers Day in Düsseldorf, Germany. The workshop is part of the LBTGC research project and aims on connecting the young researchers involved in the project. We encourage the participants to take an active role in the workshop by presenting their ongoing work and discussing it with the other young researchers.
The workshop will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 prior to the Engineered Transparency Conference (October 21-22, 2014) and glasstec (October 21-24,2014) Düsseldorf, Germany. It is planned to have keynote presentations covering the topics of wood and glass as constructive materials as well as the mechanical function of the adhesive. This is followed by presentations given by the young researchers which should inform the participants of ongoing, not necessarily finished research work. It is asked to provide insight in the working process, available results and outcomes but also possible difficulties that emerged. There will be room for an extensive discussion if the presenters come up with questions to the audience. All participants are encouraged to join actively in the discussions!
The workshop will be finished by a facultative dinner in an informal way.
The meeting, the coffee breaks and lunch are free of charge; costs for travel, accommodation and evening dinner must be covered by the participant or their respective organization. All participants receive a free ticket to glasstec, the international fair for glass production, processing and products. Please see the attached preliminary timetable for additional information.
You will be invited to submit your presentation in advance to the workshop after the final decision on your participation by the steering committee of the LBTGC-project. The abstracts and slides will be printed as proceedings to be provided to each participant and to the responsible funding agencies. The deadline for the submission of the presentations is September 19, 2014.
We are looking forward to receiving your interesting contributions. Please do not hesitate to contact us (Felix.Nicklisch@tu-dresden.de) if you have further questions.
