NPD Solarbuzz to Provide Industry Leading Data to UK Solar Trade Association

NPD Solarbuzz announced a data-sharing agreement with the Solar Trade Association (STA) in the United Kingdom. Beginning this week, NPD Solarbuzz will provide the STA with weekly information on the size of the solar photovoltaic (PV) market in the UK, which will be used in ongoing communications to the association’s membership.

Until now, there has been no official data source available to accurately track the size of the UK solar PV market and the cumulative capacity deployed. Data available from the government’s Central Feed-in-Tariff Register provides monthly updates for eligible sub-50 kilowatt (kW) installations; however, the UK solar PV market is currently dominated by installations larger than 50 kW, in particular large-scale megawatt (MW) projects deployed under the UK’s Renewable Obligation (RO) scheme.

“We are honored to be providing data to the Solar Trade Association to help their members better understand the solar market in the UK,” said Finlay Colville, vice-president at NPD Solarbuzz. “This agreement was created to help members of this influential organization make better business decisions, based on the latest and most reliable market-size data available for the UK solar PV market.”
