2022 - The International Year of Glass!
The United Nations has declared 2022 the International Year of Glass (IYOG).
This tribute to the centuries old material will be celebrated worldwide with various events around the world. The special significance of glass will also be highlighted at the world's largest event for the glass industry, glasstec. To celebrate the occasion, there will be an IYOG event in the conference area of glasstec (Hall 11, Stand B 24).
The event will be opened by Prof. Alicia Durán (ICG) and Petra Cullmann (Messe Düsseldorf). This will be followed by a presentation on "Added value through glass "Bioglass" - glass dust for bone reconstruction - Status Quo Research and Future Potentials" by Marcela Arango Ospina (FAU University Erlangen - Nuremberg). Finally, a get-together will round off the event.
