Saint-Gobain is once again setting a new standard with the launch of COOL-LITE SKN 176 II, the most neutral solar control product available that can achieve a selectivity of 1.89.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II outperforms all other double silver SGG COOL-LITE SKN coatings, combining a 70% light transmittance with 0.37 g-value as well as achieving a thermal insulation value of 1.0W/m2K.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II is designed for the commercial market where a high light transmittance and low solar heat gain is required. The high light transmission reduces the need of artificial light and the low g-value significantly reduces the dependency on heating and air conditioning. SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II not only improves well-being by creating a more pleasant working environment, it also reduces energy consumption and helps to create a more sustainable building design.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II is a ‘to be toughened’ product which makes it suitable for applications which demand toughened or heat-strengthened glass. The product can be used in a wide range of architectural applications including curtain walling, bolted glass assemblies, external wall cladding, double-skin applications and overhead glazing.

Market Manager for Saint-Gobain Glass’ Better Working product range Adrian Adams said that the low G-Value gives architects the additional design flexibility of excluding external shading devices to control solar gain as SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II is able to reduce the amount of solar heat gain by 63%.
