On Monday 24th September in Nuremberg, the coveted 2012 German Packaging Awards were announced. This year's Retail Packaging award was won by the brilliant Johnnie Walker Blue Label glass decanter.

The decanter was developed and produced by Stölzle Flaconnage, British production site of the Internationally renowned Stölzle Glass Group. It was a tough challenge to develop a decanter which could reflect perfectly the brand's exquisite blended Scotch Whisky. The packaging was redesigned with a clear intention of increasing the shelf presence to the consumer. For the brand Stölzle Flaconnage has developed an exclusive glass colour: Blue-Label-Blue.

The heavy 1.5 kg decanter is characterised by the evenness of its glass distribution and high brilliance, both achieved through STO's mastery of the complex moulding and production techniques required.

Stölzle Glass Group with its headquarters in Austria consists of 4 international production sites in Britain, Poland and Czech Republic together with sales companies in USA, France and Russia.
