The joint stand of the Federal Association of the Glazier Trade
The most important industry meeting point for the glass processing trade is the joint stand of the Federal Guild Association of the Glazier Trade (BIV). The state technical colleges and the federal glass schools are also represented there. The BIV is the leading core competence of the glazier trade in Germany and is responsible for the development of technical guidelines, cooperation in standardization, representation of interests in business, politics and law, training regulations for journeymen, master craftsmen and technicians and public relations work.
The following exhibitors are represented at the joint stand
Für das Glaserhandwerk wird seit 2022 die Qualifikation auf dem glasstec-Messestand des Bundesinnungsverbands ausgeübt.
Another highlight at glasstec 2024: the organization of the national preliminary decision of WorldSkills Germany to qualify for EuroSkills 2025 in Denmark in cooperation with the Federal Association of Glaziers. The participants will be ceremoniously selected for the European Championships at glasstec.
The six young participants each have eight hours over three days to complete a specific project. It's all about precise planning, but also about working calmly, precisely and efficiently, as there is no time for a second attempt. Challenges in which the young competitors are left to their own devices and have to rely entirely on their abilities - their skills.
The final decision: The jury. It is made up of glass experts from all over Germany. The winner of WorldSkills Germany will then be chosen on the last day of the glasstec trade
Daily update on the work
Rolf Fuess, the contact person for WorldSkills Germany at the Federal Guild Association, will present the skills concept and the current status of the work in a short presentation every day at 13:00.
