Triple glazing made of profiled glass

Profiled glass is one of the classics in facade construction and interior design. The special Pilkington Profilit™ ‘one in 2’ structure enables constructions with improved insulation and soundproofing properties to be achieved.

Carpe Futurum power station by Liljewall Architects in Uppsala: The use of glass made from low-iron oxide raw materials ensures that the orange elements are reproduced true to the original colour.

Pilkington Profilit™ is increasingly being used in modern design-focused architecture to provide natural daylight and to contribute to the visual design. Its main application is in exterior facades and in interior glazing. Possible product variations are e.g. extra clear low-iron channel glass, online coated functional glass, thermally toughened and heat-soaked profiled safety glass as well as design products such as sandblasted Pilkington Profilit™ Opal or profiled glass which is processed with ceramic pigments such as Pilkington Profilit™ T Color Design.

Another product development is a variation of the system Pilkington Profilit™ ‘one in 2’ with a laminated double low-e coated intermediate flat glass for improved heat insulation, solar control and noise control characteristics.
