In contrast to burglars, who prefer to proceed undetected, under time pressure and rather quietly, it plays a subordinate role for perpetrators of vandalism offences whether they are observed, filmed or prosecuted. The impact on the glass is violent, the tools are heavy and often improvised (e.g. manhole covers, paving stones).
