ABSTRACT:
The presentation will give insight into recent challenges of glass coatings for automotive applications. Vehicle concepts including the mega trends, digitalization, e-mobility and self-driving cars, are considered. Complex glass surfaces for interior application, hot forming of thin glass, lamination of thin curved glass, homogeneous coating on 3D surfaces, crash safety of glass elements, switchable glazing and sensors are identified as critical research topics for the automotive industry.
