Reinforcement fiberglass market
Reinforcement fiberglass is manufactured throughout the world and is primarily used for mechanical reinforcement. Materials reinforced with fiberglass are found in nearly every field, such as sports equipment, automotive components, electronic parts, building materials, and others.
Whatever the technology used in the glass melting process, whether it be gas, oxygas, or combination gas and electric boosting, the melter furnace is at the head of the manufacturing process leading to the finished product.
The melter furnace, with its associated forehearth, is the single most important piece of equipment on which the fiberglass maker can intervene both to reduce operating costs and to increase fiber glass quality.
This growing demand generally puts higher expectation on refractory performances. Saint-Gobain SEFPRO has long been working with glassmakers the world over to develop sintered and electrofused refractory solutions to build increasingly better furnaces while protecting our environment.
