PVB mats with applied heating wires for heatable laminated glass: HOTLINEGLASS is used in vehicle glass to melt ice at the windshield or backlite, to head up the wiper parking position and to remove mist on the inner side of the glass.
The windshield heating system works effectively and without uncomfortable air flow. The tungsten wire based glass heating system may be integrated in every laminated glass.
The tungsten wires, busbars and connectors forming the heating field are applied to the PVB prior to the bonding process of the glass-PVB sandwich. The heating wires can be applied in straight or curved paths and with or without small sinusoidal waves (wiggle wires) to the PVB.
With these heating fields specific heating powers of 4-6 W/dm² are feasible with battery voltage of only 12 volts. With a diameter of 14-20 microns, the wires are almost invisible. The heated laminated glass retains a light transmission of over 95%.
Wire laying machines for production of wired PVB used in heated laminated glass e.g. car windshields. We offer two types of machines:
The drum type PSW machine for mass production of rectangular or trapezoid heating fields and the table PST machine for flexible production based on free contour CNC programming for small to medium series.
The wires can be applied with all machines in straigth or with small sinus form (wiggle wires).
Today‘s car windshields are much more than just safety glass. They contain many integrated technologies, such as heating fields or integrated antennas. Most of them are based on wires placed on the interlaying PVB sheet. In the visible area the wires have to be very thin and they have to be applied very precise on the interlaying PVB sheet.
Hamacher and Hotlineglass deliver complete solutions in the field of applying wires on PVB sheets.
Hamacher started with the production of the first wire laying machines in 1988 and 2001 started supplying the global glass market. Many technological developments and experience in this field resulted in the two available machine types being delivered to many satisfied customers.
Hotlineglass began production of heatable PVB sheets and PVB sheets with antenna wire in 2005. We deliver ready-to-assemble PVB with high flexibility and quality to many satisfied customers.
Heatable PVB and PVB with applied wire production at our facilities: In three professional clean rooms (area 400 m²) we produce from small-to-medium volume custom sizes and layouts of heatable PVB sheets and PVB with applied antenna wire.
The sheets are available in a wide variety of designs, with regard to each customer’s needs and the possibility of quick product changes. The PVB sheets are delivered with applied wires, busbars and connectors in sealed aluminium bags. They are ready to assemble, so the customer just has to place them between the sheets of windshield glass.
Heatable PVB production at customer facilities: We deliver standard and custom size wire-laying machines in two different types to our customers for heatable PVB production in their clean rooms.
