Product category: Filter technologies (flue gas and electrostatic)

Wet electrostatic precipitator

High efficiency by wet cleaning
Wet type electrostatic precipitators are used where aerosol-solid mixes have to be separated with high efficiency. Today wet type electrostatic precipitators with a high cost-benefit ratio are considered especially for separating:

fine dusts
resin vapors
blue haze
paint mists
oil vapors

Our plants are characterized by a number of outstanding properties:

high separation rate, with clean gas solid content up to < 1 mg/m³
optimum spray water input for saturation of gas and for complete wetting of the separation area
effective interval flushing of the separator and precipitator bottom
complete pumping system for circulating water and waste water
minimum consumption of fresh water
optimum corrosion protection by using of stainless steel or FRP

Waste incineration
Liquid waste incineration

Dry electrostatic precipitator

Safe and economical dry dust collection
Dry type electrostatic precipitators today are considered the most economical system for solving dust collecting problems, as any dry dust generated can be disposed of without difficulty. Proven technology in connection with high-grade materials ensures a long service life and minimal maintenance effort for EWK electrostatic precipitators. We guarantee highest quality and outstanding properties for every detail of our plants:

The bicorona band electrodeuniform corona

formation over the entire length
welded into a tubular frame to provide safety against breakage
no deflection towards the precipitation electrode

The precipitation electrode

dust collection spaces at both ends
exact plate guidance
high stability

The transverse separators

for additional electrostatic and mechanical dust separation
for improved gas distribution

The rapping device

plate rapping by lifting and disengagement of the first plate
discharge frame rapping by drop hammers

Cement, lime and gypsum industries
Waste and sludge combustion
Wood and biomass combustion
Hot gas acid regeneration
Coal and lignite drying systems
Sintering plants
Glass smelting furnaces
Power plants
Cupola furnaces

Also in combination with sorption

Catalytic systems

Catalytic exhaust air and waste gas purification
EWK Environmental Engineering has been manufacturing systems for the purification of air and waste gases for years.
The SCR (selective catalytic reduction) methods successfullyused for the reduction of pollutants in

Process exhaust air
Combustion gases

The burning of biological fuels, (wood, straw, biogas etc.) as well as fossil fuels (heating oil, natural gas, heavy oil, coal) and industrial waste (solvent, sewage sludge, explosive, refuse and industrial residue etc.) generates large amounts of the following substances even in the most advanced furnaces:

Nitric oxide NOx
Carbon monoxide CO
Hydrocarbons CmHn
Dioxin / Furan PCDD / PCDF

With the SCR catalyser technology these air pollutants can be precipitated to a large degree and converted to N2, CO2, H2O.

Modular construction
The EWK reactors consist of modules set in stainless steel casings with insulation.
This permits an individual assembly depending upon the kind of pollutant and pollutant concentration.
Individual adaption to local requirements.
Compact and economical construction.

SCR catalyzer technology is characterized by:

simple operation
low maintenance effort
long lifetime
high operating safety
low operating costs
easy upgrading of existing systems

Advantages of the SCR-technology with the reaction medium urea

Urea is non-toxic, transportation and storage hold no risks
NOx conversion rates of over 98% are possible
no or negligible reaction by-products
low ammonia slip

Combustion furnaces
Chemical and pharmaceutical industry
Process exhaust air
Solvent disposal
Stainless steel pickling plants
Gas / Diesel engines
Solid waste utilization plants
Waste incinerators
Glass smelting pots
Block heat and power plants
Explosives disposal

About us

Company details

EWK is a medium sized company with a tradition for 135 years. The company was created in 1868 of Albert Munziger and later renamed ZSCHOCKE WERKE by the new owner, Gottfried Zschocke. At the time the ZSCHOCKE company was already well-known far beyond Kaiserslautern, Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, particular for its wooden cooling towers for water recooling and combined gas purification systems

So we have been a competent partner as suppliers of exhaust air, waste gas and process gas purifying systems in all questions of environmental protection for many decades. We offer proven technology and system approaches under economic and ecological criteria.

The head office of EWK Umwelttechnik GmbH is in Kaiserslautern, a city with 100,000 inhabitants, shaped by companies such as Opel, Pfaff, Pfeiffer, AWK (today ACO), a university and a technical college. But Kaiserslautern is also known for its scoccer club 1st FCK with its expanded World Cup Stadium. Kaiserslautern is located 100 km southwest of Frankfurt and within a radius of 65 km from the cities of Mainz, Ludwigshafen and Saarbruecken, with ideal links to airports, highways and express trains
