Northstar’s Borocolour offers more than 100 combinable colors. They can be divided into two categories: Colors that tarnish and those that don’t. In addition to that, the shades of each color can vary, depending whether it is treated in a reducing or an oxidizing flame. Let us just give an example to illustrate what is meant by this: The color NS-003 can be either come in a shade that reminds of blue dust or a shade of green which makes the spectator think of a lake when it is treated in an oxidizing flame. In contrast to this, it becomes an earthy red whit exquisite a shade of gold in it when it is treated in a reducing flame. So each piece of art you create with Borocolour is unique and a lot of different impressions can be created. Let us inspire you to find out what these colors are capable of. Please note that the rods are hand-made, this is why variations in their diameter might occur.
Glass Alchemy’s Boromax is a hand-drawn borosilicate glass 3.3. It all started with Glass Alchemy’s color C0E33 Crayon, the glittering Sparkle-colors and a lot of other favorite colors of our customers’. The product range expands from transparent colors to opal colors as well colors with a metallic effect such as Captain Sparrow’s “Black Pearl” or vibrant colors such as Eclipse or Dragon’s Blood. Please note that differences in the diameter might arise because the rods are hand-made.
Mechanically polished quartz plates EN08 are gained from electrically melted quartz tubes or direct drawn quartz plates. Due to their high purity, they offer an excellent transmission in the UV-range from wavelengths of 200-280nm. The OH-content of our EN08 quartz plates can be reduced to 30ppm by vacuum annealing. This quartz material is well suited in the UVC disinfection range. Moreover our quartz plates EN08 are used in a vast number of UV dryer systems, optical applications, protective windows as well as a sight glass window.
Laser protective glass (which is also called protective windows, protective filters or welding protective windows) saves your high-priced laser optics from material splashes in the course of the cutting or welding process. It also goes by the name “final window“, because it is the last optics in front of the work piece (like an Al sheet) that has to be processed. Laser protective windows for solid state lasers are often made of quartz glass since the material offers a high transmission in the UV range as well as in the IR range, a minimal absorption and a high temperature shock resistance. But optical borosilicate glasses like BK7 and HK9L are suitable for lower laser powers as well. CO2 lasers require zinc selenide glasses. All substrates are finished with an antireflective coating (short: AR-coating) to increase the transmission respectively to lower the reflection.
You can get our Boroclear (Simax) materials as tubes, rods, capillaries or laboratory glassware. It is an equivalent group member of the technical borosilicate glasses 3.3 which is approved worldwide and internationally defined according to DIN ISO 358. This is why it is combinable with other glasses of this group. The standard length is 1.500mm for all tubes and rods. Of course they can be cut to shorter lengths in our workshop.
Our team at GVB GmbH - Solutions in Glass is devoted to the individual needs of our customers and to providing a product range that clearly sets us apart from our competitors.
Our range of porducts contain the following areas:
Quarzglas We offer a wide range of tubes, rods and plates made of quartz glass from our stock for technical glass blowers. Further more we are able to manufacture according to our customers demand and whishes. That includes the production of lamp bulbs, sleeves, plate cuts, coatings on tubes and plates, quartz crucibles (fused and sintered) as well as many more parts for the semiconductor, solar and photovoltaic industry.
Borosilicate Glass Boroclear is a colorless, machine produced borosilicate glass 3.3. The favourable relation between price and features, the goods machinery as well as the precision of the tubes and the rods make Boroclear a material fro many different applications. Is is known as a very insensitive during quick changes of temperatures. Due tothe low thermal expansion, Boroclear is an excellent material for the application in laboratories, for building chemical constructions, for the pharmaceutical field, as well as for artificial handicraft. Boroclear reacts very positively to life enviroment and is absolutely unexceptionalbe from the ecological point of view.
Processed Borosilicate Glass For the lighting industry we offer several possibilities to process the tubes and rods. Besides customer specilized cuts we also offer differnent surface processing (tarnish, varnish, coating).
Glass for Arts and Crafs and Accessoires We offer for our craftsmen a wide range of coloured rods (Borocolour, Boromax, Moretti and many more..) tubes (colourstar) and sheets (Dichroic), as well as tools for beadmaking.
