OPTICAL SENSOR FOR NON-CONTACT LINEAR MEASUREMENTS
OptoCrown™ is an optical sensor, based on light reflection technology, for non-contact linear measurements.
It uses fiber optics to transmit infrared light and receive the light reflected back from the target surface.
The distance between target surface and sensor is determined by the intensity of the reflected light.
The sensor provides measurement that are insensitive to ambient light conditions and to variations in the reflectivity of the target surface.
With a specific calibration, the sensor can work on flat objects made of any material (for example shiny or sanded steel, glass, plastics, etc...) and of any colour.
To obtain the best accuracy results, the sensor must be perpendicular to the surface to be measured.
OptoCrown™ sensor can be integrated in a DigiCrown™ network.
