IR-D – Infrared Dual camera system

The IR-D – Infrared Dual camera system - assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the forming process.

The innovative solution is suitable for all forming processes (Blow & Blow, Press & Blow and NNPB) and for round and non-round ware in each glass colour.

IR-D operating principle
At the Hot End the IR-D detects the intensity of infrared radiation emitted by the hot glass containers. The measured intensity is translated into essential information about the status of the glass forming process and makes accurate defect inspection possible, already in the Hot End.

The IR-D rejects glass containers with critical defects before the HEC tunnel and the lehr. The real-time process information provided by the XPAR Vision software is related to single cavities which helps the operator to take the right remedial actions.
The simple and intuitive IR-D user interface allows the operator to maintains a clear view on the IS-machine and the conveyor belt.

IGC

The IGC – Infrared Gob weight Control system – as an add-on to XPAR Vision’s IR camera systems, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their product quality and increases the glass-forming-process capabilities by monitoring and controlling the weight of all cut gobs.
This innovative solution is suitable for all forming processes (Blow & Blow, Press & Blow and NNPB) and for round and non-round ware in each glass colour.

IGC operating principle
At the Hot End, XPAR Vision’s IR-D system detects the intensity of infrared radiation emitted by the hot glass containers. The IR-D measures the intensity of each single glass container. The IGC relates this measurement to the weight of the related gob. Any deviations in gob weight are automatically compensated by the IGC through adjusting the position of the tube. The IGC ensures a constant weight of the cut gobs, thus eliminating an important source of process variation.

Connected to the company’s network, the IGC and IR-D enable remote access for production specialists to (re)view the status of the forming process and apply changes to settings and configurations.

XMIS - SQL Based Information System

XMIS - SQL Based Information System - an add-on to XPAR Vision’s solutions, assists container glass manufacturers to improve their understanding of the forming process and thereby improves their product quality and increases their glass forming capabilities.
This innovative solution supports all XPAR Vision's solutions, including the IR-D, the IGC, the Gob Assist and the BTC.

XMIS operating principle
When XPAR Vision's Hot End solutions are implemented at the production line, enormous amounts of information are gathered about the forming process and presented to the user. Without XMIS installed in the plant this information would be stored for a short duration before being discarded and therefore lost for further analysis and future reference.
