CONTI-DRAIN®

This is a direct/indirect electrically heated system in the front forehearth area. Via controllable current flow between a discharge nozzle made of highly heat-resistant steel and a counter electrode in the glass bath, the discharge amount can be adjusted according to need. With the CONTI-DRAIN® "cat scratches" are also avoided by eliminating the zirconium-rich bottom glass in the feeder.

The ideal additional systems to improve your glass production

  • SORG Deep Refiner®: The use of the Deep Refiner® increases the residence time of the glass in the furnace, especially in the refining area, and thus improves the glass quality.
  • IRD® Doghouse: It is designed to increase the heat transfer to the batch (glassing) and thus prevents dusting and carry-over in the furnace and chambers.
  • ARD Advanced Regenerator Design: It is typically used for the conversion from a recuperative to an end-fired furnace. The design is also a suitable option in case that the foundation depth is limiting the regenerator height, e.g. by a high ground water table or by rock in the ground.
  • SORG® Refining Bank: The Refining Bank is an additional device in the tank, which significantly improves the glass quality. It is used to raise the glass temperature in a shallow area in the fining zone, without increasing the superstructure temperature.

The new developed SORG® burner holders

The new SORG® burner holder is characterized by the fulcrum of the burner being located in the burner nozzle in the front. There are two different types: the WSH holder and the WSA holder. The WSH provides manual adjustment of the horizontal and vertical burner angles. The WSA offers the manual adjustment of the horizontal angle and the motorized adjustment of the vertical burner angle. To adjust the burner angle no tools are necessary.
