Good news for users of Outlook or Google Calendar — you can now export appointments directly from Smart-Toolbox right to your phone or computer!
Once you've got the calendars configured in Smart-Toolbox, appointments can be synced from the schedule screen right to the installer's phone. If job details change, simply update the appointment in the schedule and resync to let the installer know. We are excited to announce new import functionality for Soft Tech V6 and X1 Export Files.
Glass and spacer for window and door fabrication is exported from Soft Tech V6 as a CSV file via a macro, and can then be imported into Smart-Glass with the click of a button.
This add-on means you can easily and accurately pull through the glass specifications from your window or door design without the need to re-enter information. The functionality can be adapted for other window fabrication software providers so if you're not using Soft Tech V6, you may still be able to take advantage of this feature — talk to the team to find out what's possible.
Sam Frankland writes about 'Before Automation' for Glass Magazine
"Problems at order entry can create a backlog, taking away potential production efficiencies and capacity improvements made possible through automated machinery." With the recent push for increased automation in the glass fabrication process, we examined some of the common issues that can arise when the transition to automation isn't well thought out. Sam Frankland (Sales and Implementation Manager at Smart-Builder) often encounters this firsthand with his customers, read his top 5 tips for avoiding automation pitfalls in Glass Magazine.

Smart-Builder talks software and automation with USGlass Magazine
"Software provides accuracy. We're people - we get distracted; data often has to be re-entered, which holds up lead times, and there's a cost there."
As a software company, we at Smart-Builder are big proponents of embracing automation! We're thrilled to see that our excitement for the wonderful world of automation is spreading, and we had the chance to talk to USGlass about it in the January 2017 issue.
David Brennan (Managing Director) and Sam Frankland (Sales and Implementation Manager) both feature in this article.
