Furnace & Forehearth Refractory

Type and quality of refractories required for a Glass tank furnace varies greatly depending on the area of actual use. SCL manufactures various refractories for the different areas of the Glass tank furnace as hereunder:

  • Furnace Bottom
  • High CCS insulation layer in SCL-INB1 and SCL-INB2 qualities.
  • Six face ground Bottom blocks in SCL-45D and SCL-62D qualities.
  • Monolithic paving of Zircon ramming mass in SCL-ZIRPAVE-50 and 06 grade.
  • Dense Zircon refractories in SCL-ZRN and SCL-ZRD qualities.

Fused Silica & Hot Repair Refractory

SCL offers following refractories for hot-repair of the furnace :

Fused Silica Refractories and Patching Mass
Fused Silica refractories have excellent thermal shock resistance and are being used for hot repair of silica roof. Silica patching mass provides complete sealing of silica roof by developing ceramic bond. The sealing of roof prevents further soda deposition and corrosion of refractories by preventing escape of hot gases from the roof.
Alumina-Chrome Refractories
Alumina-chrome tiles are used for hot patching of AZS blocks at glass level. These tiles can be installed without undergoing any thermal spalling. These refractories have excellent corrosion resistance and lasts for a very long time without needing further repairs.
Zircon and Zirmul Patching Material
These are monolithic materials required for patching various areas of the furnace and are required mostly in the second-half of furnace life.

SCL’s manufacturing facilities are located at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, India with a total production capacity of 12000 TPA. The plant is well equipped with the best in class production facility. Raw materials are handled in a five-Storey Mill House comprising of a range of modern machines including Jaw crushers, Impact Mills , elevators, Four-deck vibrating screens, Magnetic separator, Storage hoppers for each material , Batch weighing trolley system and High speed counter current mixers. Forming process is completed by various range of presses, Vibrating tables and Vibro- presses. Fully controlled dryers and automated shuttle kiln complete the cycle.
