Product category: UV edge taping technology

ArgoGuard® is a high-performance uncoated thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) paint and surface protection film. ArgoGuard® provides a strong and durable shield for any bare or painted metal, glass or plastic surface exposed to extreme conditions to prevent damage from abrasion, chipping, chemicals and wear.

ArgoGuard® has excellent abrasion and impact resistance to provide adhesive coaters, automotive engineers, appliance designers and electronics display manufacturers a durable layer of protection for cars, trucks, appliances, mobile devices, computers, electronic display screens and more. ArgoGuard® TPU paint and surface protection films offer coaters and converters consistent optical clarity, conformability, UV resistance, lay-flat and Class-A gloss finish required for their products.

With a proven track record and a proprietary formulation that provides outstanding processability for adhesive coaters, SWM is the largest extruder of uncoated TPU paint protection films for the global automotive aftermarket. If you have a valuable surface to protect, ArgoGuard® TPU film is the material of choice.

Clean and Clear Glass Lamination

EVA optical interlayer film is used to laminate switchable glass composites. These dynamic, smart composites function as dimmable or decorative glass to provide on-off privacy in highly visible architectural glass-walled or glass-windowed applications where visual isolation is the desired design element.

ArgoBond® thermoplastic polyurethane TPU and ethylene vinyl acetate EVA glass lamination films provide unmatched optical clarity, lay flat, and overall consistent quality. SWM thermoplastic polyurethane TPU film is used extensively in aerospace, military and commercial bullet-, impact- and hurricane- resistant composites. Copolymer-based optical interlayer EVA films are used to laminate architectural switchable glass composites.

ArgoBond® is compatible with all types of electronic films and has excellent temperature performance combined with superior electrical insulation properties. When used as an adhesive layer between the glass and electronic components in touchscreen monitors, this thermoplastic polyurethane film protects the sensitive electronics from damage caused by exposure to temperature extremes and wear.

Designed for ease of use ArgoBond® TPU and EVA films are engineered to work correctly in the laminator's equipment, whether autoclaves, nip rolls, or bladder presses. They lay up well, are not tacky, and laminate with minimal voids for fast and efficient installation.

Engineered for Tomorrow

SWM is a leading global provider of engineered solutions and advanced materials. From our origins as paper-making experts during the Renaissance to our cutting-edge technologies that solve today's modern business challenges, SWM has consistently demonstrated a forward-looking approach to helping our customers succeed. Our history of performance is thanks in large part to our fundamental manufacturing expertise of roll goods and our deep understanding of the industries we serve.

In recent years, as we focused on expanding our reach beyond fiber-based materials, SWM established and grew its Advanced Materials & Structures (AMS) platform to include expertise and capabilities in resin-based technologies and materials. As part of this effort, SWM acquired and integrated several global leaders specializing in market-leading netting and high-performance TPU films, including Argotec (2015), Conwed Plastics (2017) and DelStar Technologies (2013). As part of the Conwed acquisition, SWM also acquired its subsidiary Filtrexx International, a global leader in the research and development of sustainable, compost-based solutions for erosion control and storm water management.

With decades of success behind us and an ambitious future ahead, now more than ever, our global enterprise is engineered for tomorrow.
