Monofrax® A2 Alpha-Alumina

Monofrax A2 is the highest alumina content fused cast refractory containing over 98% aluminum oxide in the alpha-alumina form.  This material offers better corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and higher electrical resistivity than alpha/beta-alumina fused cast material and also provides low defect potential.

Monofrax® M Alpha-Beta Alumina

Invented in the 1940's, Monofrax M has been successfully used in a wide variety of applications in both glass and non-glass industries.  It offers excellent corrosion resistance and low defect potential in the conditioning or refining end of glass melting furnaces.  Since the mid-1990's it is the primary solution for crowns and superstructure in oxy-fuel glass melting furnaces.

Monofrax® H Beta Alumina

Monofrax® H is an essentially 100% beta alumina refractory. It offers maximum corrosion resistance to alkali rich gaseous environments and excellent thermal shock properties. Recommended for superstructure applications only, this material can be heavily insulated.

Monofrax® K-3 Chrome-Alumina

Monofrax® ZHR Zirconia

Monofrax ZHR is a fusion-cast zirconia refractory, specifically developed for application in furnaces melting high quality, specialty glass using electrical energy.  Both the chemical composition and manufacturing process have been carefully tailored to achieve higher electrical resistivity while retaining other key attributes of Monofrax Z.  These include extremely low blister and stoning potential, excellent corrosion resistance, virtually no exudation and good thermal shock resistance.
