Introducing the architectural market’s cool and brilliant new glass solution – Pilkington 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹™ Q

NSG Group has launched Pilkington Suncool™ Q – its latest offering in a range that provides the most advanced solutions in new high performance solar control.

Uniquely, this innovative new product allows the individual glass types within the range to seamlessly match each other from the external viewers’ perspective – an advantage that was previously not possible with other Pilkington Suncool™ products.

With effective sun protection becoming more and more important, the right glazing not only protects against solar radiation in summer but can also help to reduce heating costs in winter. In the long term, this protects both the climate and your wallet.

The solutions offered by Pilkington Suncool™ Q provide architects with a host of aesthetic and practical possibilities. A superior solar control glass range with high colour-stability, low reflection, low angle dependence, excellent neutrality and superb selectivity, the range includes Pilkington Suncool™ Q 50, Pilkington Suncool™ Q 60 and Pilkington Suncool™ Q 70 – all offering various levels of light transmission and solar heat gain.

Crucially, the three different products can be used seamlessly in the same project. In this way, a façade with a uniform colour can meet a variety of different technical challenges. A building that is oriented in different directions can be equipped with various types of solar control glass products displaying a uniform appearance. For architects and planners, these properties result in very special design options.

The Pilkington Suncool™ Q range can also be combined with other Pilkington glass products and thus offer extended functionalities.

Builders and architects can choose from a wide range of products to find individual solutions for modern buildings. In this way, structural requirements can be addressed flexibly and the comfort for occupants can be maximised.

NSG Group experts at Glasstec 2022 conference

NSG Group experts will join other influential contributors at this year’s Glasstec conference that will be focused on decarbonisation. Specifically targeted leading-edge lectures will offer attendees a blend of theory and practice on this pressing global issue.

The conference will address all five global megatrends: climate (emissions reduction and renewable energy); urbanisation (future-proof architecture with glass); value (sustainable-added value), resources (using resources efficiently and sustainably), and well-being (increased quality of life through glass). Its content will scrutinise such questions as how CO2 can be saved in the production, processing and finishing of glass, and which glass products can provide a positive contribution. Specialists will address these and other issues on the open stage in Hall 11.

Our experts David Cast and Dr Kevin Sanderson will talk on NSG Group CO2 emission targets and ZEB philosophy on Wednesday, 21 September, at 10:20 in Hall 11.

NSG Group commits to greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned to climate science. The target covers all scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, aligned with a below 2°C warming scenario.

With the growing interest in zero energy buildings (ZEB), a study has been undertaken to determine the ideal product characteristics to match the requirements in each geographical region.

The presentation will provide an insight into the company’s and the glass industry’s activities that are needed to align with the global ambition for decarbonisation.

The conference will be held 20 – 23 September. Visit the website to find out its detailed programme at:

Pilkington Bauglasindustrie to Exhibit at Glasstec 2022

Pilkington Bauglasindustrie, a part of NSG Group, will be exhibiting its latest innovations at the World’s Leading Glass Trade Fair, the Glasstec 2022 show in Düsseldorf, Germany between 20th – 23rd September 2022.

Visitors to the Glass Technology Live exhibition in Hall 11 will be able to explore the latest Pilkington Profilit™ system and product developments focused on creating glass with excellent energy and safety performance for a range of building projects, whatever their particular challenges and budget.

Pilkington Profilit™ is increasingly being used in modern design-focused architecture to provide natural daylight and to contribute to the visual design. Its main application is in exterior façades and interior glazing.

Examples of possible product variations include extra clear low iron channel glass, online coated functional glass, thermally toughened and heat-soaked profiled safety glass as well as design products like sandblasted Pilkington Profilit™ Opal or profiled glass, which is processed with ceramic pigments such as Pilkington Profilit™ T Color Design.

Another new product development is a variation of the system Pilkington Profilit™ “2 plus one” as bullet-resistant glazing. Apart from excellent heat insulation, solar control and noise control characteristics, this setup also offers further improved safety features.

We hope that our display creates interest with architects, planners and customers visiting the Glass Technology Live exhibition.

The sandblasted channel glass on low iron substrate Pilkington Profilit™ OW Opal will be presented at the main booth of the NSG Group in the reception desk front side.

The NSG Group team at Glasstec is looking forward to meeting all customers and visitors who would like to know more about our channel type glass range.

Visit us at the Glass Technology Live exhibition in Hall 11 and at the NSG Group booth #10-D37.
